Video: What if I want to pay some of my creditors?

In a bankruptcy petition, you must list all of your creditors and all of your debt. However, once a discharge of your debt is entered, there is no prohibition against paying any of the creditors that you wish to pay. However, if such debts were discharged in your bankruptcy, you have no legal obligation to pay. In some instances, after you file a bankruptcy, you may want to pay certain creditors. For example, if you have a vehicle lease and you want to continue to make payments on a lease in order to keep the vehicle, you may reaffirm the debt and, as long as you continue making payments, retain the vehicle.
