If your employer files a chapter 11 bankruptcy and is still conducting business, your paychecks should not be interrupted. Generally an employer still doing business will seek authority from the bankruptcy court to continue paying his employees wages. In the even that the employer is no longer in business, you must file a proof of claim within the bankruptcy case. Your proof of claim will be given priority treatment provided that there are assets available for distribution.
