Video: What is mediation?

Mediation is a form of dispute resolution. Mediation is very effective. Mediation is where multiple parties to a lawsuit are put into a room with a third-party mediator, whether that mediator is a former judge or a lawyer, all who have undergone dispute resolution training to try to bridge the gap between the parties to see if a settlement can be achieved. Mediation is voluntary, but in many cases courts require mediation before a case can be put on the trial docket. If you've got good representation, and if you've got a good mediator, and if you're willing to settle the case, mediation should work.
